According to the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln and Nebraska have been earning top ten rankings in a number of national categories over the last few years—affordability, financial responsibility, innovation and entrepreneurship. All of this economic goodness translates to job opportunities, good quality of life, and a robust housing market. There are incredibly low numbers of existing construction on the market and lots of new construction.
New construction is an essential part of the growing economy in Lincoln. It provides jobs, develops land for residential living, and provides housing for the influx of people coming to our city to take advantage of the growth in innovation and entrepreneurship. Lincoln suffers from what has become a known as a “housing trilemma.” Imagine if you will, a Venn Diagram of affordability, economic strength, and quality of life. Lincoln is smack-dab in the center. It’s a great problem to have!
What can this lead to? Builderfest. Hosted by Nebraska Home Sales, this event features new construction homes from builders that work with agents in our company. Builderfest is a unique opportunity to see multiple new construction homes built by multiple builders within a one-block area. Seven months ago, these builders bought lots on the same block near 98th and Andermatt Drive near the Heart Hospital.
These houses are impressive. Although these five homes are built as spec homes, all five of these builders will gladly talk with you about building a custom home. These homes are impressive because they represent the newest and best in materials, design, and construction.
They are also impressive because they speak to Lincoln’s strong economy and growing entrepreneurial and business culture. According to the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln still has a cost of living 8.6% lower than the national average and a low unemployment rate. Lincoln is a great place to live, work, and, of course, buy a home.
Come visit with Nebraska Home Sales realtors and our builders at Builderfest August 5th through 12th. There is no charge for this event, and we would love to talk to you about new construction. For more information, check out www.nebhomesales.com/builderfest/.
